A Picnic at the Beach on an Autumn Day

Today was an absolutely perfect Autumn day - sunshine - bright blue skies - soft breezes - warm temperatures. So I packed a picnic and picked up Don from work and we went to Boulevard Park. It is right on the bay and we found a bench at the edge of the water.

People and rocks and trees and grass . . .

Picnic tables in the shade . . .

Waves lapping at the shore . . .

I tried to catch the little bit of splashing - the sound was so peaceful . . .

Boats near . . .

And boats far . . .

Boats in between . . .

Seagulls enjoying the waves . . .

A wonderful tree to sit under . . .

For our picnic . . .

Some of the trees had begun to lose their red leaves . . .

They looked like jewels in the sunshine . . .

And then there appeared - this GIANT cookie . . .

Filled with chocolate chips . . .

Not so many chips left . . .

Not so much cookie left . . .

People commented on the size of that cookie . . .

Some wanted a bite . . .

Do you think I'd share my cookie?

But there is only one bite left . . .

End of the giant cookie - end of a great picnic - might as well go home . . .

What a lovely spot for a picnic! Or a cookie! Everything is still so green there! How lovely to just sit and watch the sailboats in the bay!

I love picnics!!! We don't have water near us, but we do have the mountains. Every time we take a hike that goes through lunchtime, we have food in our backpacks. Peanut butter and jelly never tasted so good as when you are staring at a beautiful view as you eat, lol.

LOVE the cookie thing! I was ahead of you on the wording...thinking the same thing.
What a wonderful day to have picnic and not many people out to do what you were doing.
Good health is everything isn't it?

You guys know how to celebrate life. A beer and a pizza would have made it perfect.

Sounds like you and Don had a lovely picnic. The weather was lovely yesterday. However, today is quite chilly with a bit of wind. At least it isn't raining yet.

This time of year, we need to enjoy every minute of light and sunshine to store up for the winter. Your day sounds like it was perfect. And boy did that cookie look good! :-)

You are such a hoot! Only you can make a story about a cookie. Maybe a childrens book?

hehe love the disappearing cookie.
I'm making an art quilt for our guild with the theme of "waves". Your 'boats far' photo inspires me. May I use those sparkles in the water? It's perfect! I'll send you a photo, and acknowledge you as the photographer. How do you feel about that?
