I wrote this post earlier this week and got it ready to go for Saturday morning (today) - after we have all gathered at the sew-in, at Anacortes, WA. The reason - because these little tea wallets are for all the ladies who will be at the sew-in today. For our potluck we are having a tea party - tiny open faced sandwiches, little sweet desserts, and of course tea.
Often at tea in England there would be gifts or crafts for those in attendance, and I thought these tea wallets would be perfect - just the thing to carry your tea bags with you so you always have your favorite tea, any place you go.
They are made like little books - with pockets inside for your teabags. I had so much fun picking out the fabrics - I got to pick two fabrics for each tea wallet.
This is the inside - cute fabric but you can't really see the pockets very well . . . I like this fabric because the bears are having tea . . .
So here is one with contrasting pockets . . . and a pretty ribbon to button it closed with
Buddy E. decided he liked the looks of one of the pockets with pretty flowers on it . . .
And then he decided he needed to help stitch the pocket - he loves the sewing machine . . . fortunately none of his arms or legs - or is it just legs on a frog - got sewn into the little tea wallets.

Jo these are so cute! Did you have a pattern, or did you just make one up??
What a cute idea! Nice to see the photo with tea packets as it let's us know about scale. My favorite tea? Twinings Lady Grey Aromatics. The base is traditional Lady Grey but they have added touches of citrus. Alas, it is almost gone & was a gift from someone who visited London.
Oh yes, please share your tea pot collection - what fun! Maybe we could "visit" each others tea pots!
Thanks so much for sharing.
Woo Hoo....cute as cute can be....they will LOVE them....I know you all are having fun!!!
I've made a couple of those and they are such fun to make. I drink only decaf tea and love most any kind.....might go and make some right now!!!
Those are adorable....you sure did make alot of them....I know the ladies sure appreciated it as well!!
Those are adorable! What fun to have a tea party, but I wouldn't fit in as I don't like tea, or coffee for that matter!
Those are so clever! It's nice to have something pretty to carry your tea in. You crack me up with that Buddy E. I drink green tea mostly, but with caffeine because it keeps me hopping mostly! I bet Buddy E. likes caffeine too... ~Lili
What a lovely idea, I love the blue fabric in the final photo. I don't drink tea even though I'm English so would have to use it for sachets of herbal tea or coffee. I'm sure the ladies who received them were delighted. I love the photos with Buddy E by the way, I hope he's going to make regular appearances on your blog:)
What a cute and crafty idea. I may try to make a couple. MB
Those are so sweet Jo and I bet the ladies loved them. I'm an English Breakfast or Earl Grey tea drinker, fully cafinated though.

I just LOVE that idea. Perfect gift for lots of people at once, like a luncheon. I also love tea, so....
What a wonderful little gift idea - do you have a pattern? Great fabrics!!
What a lot of pretty crafts. I was sent here to see the little tea books.. Just too cute. Now if I only drank tea!! Might have to start just so I can have a little tea book.
