About a month ago we had some snow - I got photos and then life took over and I didn't get them posted, but I wanted you to see the snow. It melted in a few days and we are back to our regular green and rain - which is fine with me, I much prefer green and rain. But the snow was pretty. After a few days the temperatures got so cold (down to 9 degrees one night) that everything was frozen and covered in ice. Only about three nights of that and then the thawing and rain began.
Plus I have been learning some new things on Gimp - a photoshop type program that you can download for free online. It takes a little learning time, but so does photoshop and today I was practicing making round photos - that look the longest to learn, but I'm happy with how they turned out.This is our front yard - looking across the street to the woods. You can't even see the street. That handle sticking up is the vintage cultivator that sits in our front yard.
This is looking toward the back yard - oh and I learned how to use the clone tool ( well I knew how to use that, our son-in-law Jason taught me that a long time ago) to take things out of the photo that I don't want there - like the neighbor's garbage can - which you can no longer see on the left side of the photo. The bright yellow sign is my "loon crossing" sign in the back yard, just in case any loons need to cross.
Another view of the woods - I like the "paper curl" on this one. That program is such fun, and I'm happy that the snow is gone too.How's your wintery weather these days?

Personally I'm sick of snow and it's not officially winter yet!! We are warming to 35 degrees tomorrow then will be back to the single digits and below for the rest of the month...bummer LOL.

nice job! When we lived in east Portland we'd get ice storms nearly every year. Horrible but beautiful. No sound but the branches and trees creaking under the load

Well I would love to have a "clone" tool to take away unwanted items from a picture. That sounds really cool!! You are way ahead of me.
Funny name, but cool tool you found there Jo. I like the idea of the clone thing. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for sharing. Our snow is very pretty only covering all the appropriate surfaces and leaving the pavement bare! ~Lili

Here in Ontario, not near us thank goodness, they have had over three feet this week. Schools closed, highways blocked and unbelievable photos on tv.
I want to be in Mexico! I hate snow! But I like looking at it from the inside out, just like you!
I love your pictures, and reading about your satisfaction at having learned something new. It's wet, gray and cool here. Typical winter. Not horrible, but I'm already ready for spring.
