On our drive through town we were able to drive slowly, as there isn't the traffic that we see in the summer vacation months. And Don would stop whenever I said - "Oh HERE" - so I could get pictures.
These are some of the handmade street signs we saw.
Don't these street signs make you think of vacation homes?

OH , this looks wonderful!! I want to go there for my birthday!!
Love Birch Bay - my family used to camp there years and years ago. I so enjoy our Washington state place names and street names. Some of my favorites are in Ocean Shores: Octopus Ave. NE, S. Razor Clam Dr. SW (and yes, there is a N. Razor Clam Dr. SW), Skookumchuck St. SE. So picturesque.
Looks like a great place...can't wait to see more of it!
Why yes, they practically scream out VACATION! ~Lili
They say "forest" to me with all those trees. I wonder how many of those signs were made out of the kind of wood in the words.
I think we should all have signs like that no matter where we live - they are so delightful!
Lovely. Our sign at the cottage says jerry and nanci at the cottage .calm. everyone knows the place now.
yes, signs are worth the stop.
Love the street signs!! Birch Bay is such a wonderful area.
Crispy
Yes they do. Now stop it! We still have snow.
Neat signs - make me want to visit there! See you at 10!
I love Birch Bay, and plan to spend plenty of time there this summer. I found it funny that the tree behind the sign that says "Fir Tree Lane" is a pine, and the tree behind pine tree lane is a Douglas Fir!!! But who cares? Not me!!
I love the names of the streets and the lovely rural signs. They cojure up a picture of somewhere small and tranquil where life is lived at a slower pace.
Yes they do....and I would take a vacation home on EVERYONE of those lanes!!
I love the Birch Bay area. You have the eye of an artist -those signs are amazing. They'd make interesting blocks in a quilt.
