What kind of tree is this?

While out driving one day we came across this tree - just loaded with crab pot bouys. Wonder how they know where their crab pots are if all the bouys are in the tree. And how did they all get up there?

Oh, how unique!!!

I wonder if those are retired buoys...they have done their duty in catching Dungeness and now just get to hang out, so to speak?

It must have been quite a wind that blew all those things up in the tree!

How funny. Must have been in Blaine? Have you seen the place on the Smith Road, just off the Guide? They hang plastic milk bottles full of water from their trees. Now what's with that?

Maybe they are Christmas decorations and they haven't gotten them down yet? LOL

That's a " Wonderment Tree " (LOL). Many moons ago , when my husband and I were dating , we were driving around and saw a tree similar to this but it had painted milk jugs hanging on it. Being the curious person I am and just for fun , we stopped and asked about his jug tree. He simply said " it was because he liked it " , we had a wonderful conversation with the man all because of his " Wonderment Tree " , they do make you wonder.

Very interesting. It took some time to get them all up there. No haphazard throwing. Interesting thoush--kinda like the tennis shoes on the telephone wores. MB

PS. thanks for visiting my blog.

Why, it's the great Buoy Tree, of course! ;-)

If it were in the South and those were bottles, it would be a spirit tree or bottle tree.

Sheila :-)

I saw a tree like this on the way to Las Vegas in the desert but it had shoes. Darndest things nothing for miles and miles and the one and only tree has dozens of pairs of shoes hanging from it!
