It's gorgeous! They had a bunch of it growing along the trail where I walked with my sister last summer!
We've noticed it here too, and I'm hoping that it means some fireweed honey in the local farmers' market.
There must be a better name than "fireweed" doesn't fit this beauty well.The photos are awesome! must have been a fair amount of rain, or is it the other way around, lots of sun, no rain.

Never even heard of it before! It looks a little like lythrum (sp) that is considered an invasive plant around here. Very pretty though. The pic of the cruise ship in the background is nice! ~Lili
