Fireweed!


It has been an absolutely fabulous summer for fireweed - thicker than I've seen it for years.

That is SO pretty. I don't think we have that here.....and we don't have bumbleberries, either. :(

It's gorgeous! They had a bunch of it growing along the trail where I walked with my sister last summer!

We've noticed it here too, and I'm hoping that it means some fireweed honey in the local farmers' market.

There must be a better name than "fireweed" doesn't fit this beauty well.
The photos are awesome! must have been a fair amount of rain, or is it the other way around, lots of sun, no rain.

Never even heard of it before! It looks a little like lythrum (sp) that is considered an invasive plant around here. Very pretty though. The pic of the cruise ship in the background is nice! ~Lili
