Hi all. This is Fran , JoAnns friend.
She asked me to update everyone.
Donald went into surgery at 9:05 this morning and the doctors finally got him into ICU at about 4;30pm pacific time.
The drs. were surprised at how much damage there was and really dont know how he lived with all of it like that. They had to do alot of rebuilding while they were in there and there was alot of bleeding and thats why it took more than the 6 hours that the family was told it would take.
Reception at the hospital was really poor so if JoAnn calls me again I will do another update.

I had planned on joining you at the hospital to provide a bit of a distraction, because I know how hard it is to wait, but as you know, I got grounded.
You are in my prayers, that Don makes a speedy recovery, and life will be much more easy and rewarding for him with his new parts.

So good that the surgery got done sooner than later. Thanks for the update. I had wondered. I will be away from my computer for a week, so I'm glad to have the update before I go. Love and prayers.

It's a really good thing they decided to do the surgery now rather than in the fall. So glad he made it through. Thinking about you both.
