I've not been to a thrift store or a yard sale for ever so long - but here are some great finds from before Don's surgery. Just haven't had time to share them with you. If I've posted about these before - please just skip this post - and if not - then please enjoy.
These pretty pink appliqued hankies are so dainty. I love vintage linens with this kind of filmy, soft applique and embroidery . . .
And a tiny pink pitcher - this is only about 3 inches tall. I put it on the window sill in the kitchen where it catches the morning sun . . .
I noticed lately that we are using the big kitchen salt and peppers on the table for meals and when I found these cute little crystal shakers I knew I just had to have them - and only 29 cents a pair - now that's a bargain . . .
And a jam pot - with lovely tarnished silver lid. I used another vintage silver spoon from my collection - seems to fit perfectly . . .
And the bargain of the day. . . week . . . month - these prefilled bobbins and little spools of thread. There are 32 of each - such a rainbow of colors. They are great for the Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt I am working on - a thread for every fabric. And the bargain you ask? Well - $1.99 for the whole set - now THAT'S what I call a bargain!!

Lovely finds. May your holiday be full & blessed. TTFN ~ Marydon
What a bargain with the thread! Your are a great shopper. I like the salt and pepper shakers, too. I seldom stop at garage sales. I need to take the time to do that. I know there are great finds, like yours, out there. I have a friend who bought a great little Singer Featherweight machine at a garage sale for $9.00. The sons were selling their mom's sewing stuff and had no idea what it was really worth. I'll bet Mom was rolling over in her grave!
Oh wow great bargain on the threads!! Love all your other finds too. I like little shakers for the table. I've been trying to talk my sis out of the tiny ones she has, that were our grandmothers so far she isn't cooperating LOL.

Everyone seems to like your s&p shakers and your thread, however, I am partial to the lovely embroidered hankies! Very nice find!
WOW on those threads!!! That was too good a bargain to pass up...that's for sure!
I have a collection of hankies too that my mother passed down to me, many of which I believe were her mothers. I want to make a quilt of come kind with these, but almost hate to use them. What a great deal you got on that thread - WOW.
LOVE the jam pot and vintage linens. I am sucker for embroidered linens :)...
You must have very nice thrift stores in your area. You found many nice things. The thread was a big bargain.
Sounds like things are getting back to normal. Great news!

JoAnn, it amazes me the treasures you find at the thrift stores!
I'm glad Don is doing so well, and hopefully life will start to get back to "normal" for you.
Joanne,
What nice finds at the thrift!! That looks like the kind of thread I use for my embroidery, what a great great deal.
My brother and his wife are coming from S.C. this weekend for a few days, and my sister is law loves going to the thrift, so I'm saving up for that and hope to find some good stuff.

You know, I always love it when you share this stuff. It's so fun! I have to agree the appliqued *in pink no less* hankies are dainty and I can just imagine the feel. What a treat. And what a cute little pitcher. How cuteamous!
It sure is nice that your life allows for a few moments of sharing like this again. I'm grateful along with everyone else connected to you and with you.
